Liam Rosenior has travelled to London to hold discussions over becoming Chelsea’s next head coach.
The Englishman is currently in charge of French side Strasbourg, who sit seventh in Ligue 1 and are owned by the BlueCo consortium, the same group that controls Chelsea.
Rosenior quickly emerged as the frontrunner to replace Enzo Maresca following the Italian’s departure from Stamford Bridge on New Year’s Day.
Standard Sport understands Rosenior flew from Strasbourg to London on Sunday afternoon accompanied by club president Marc Keller and sporting director David Weir, with talks set to take place regarding a permanent appointment at Chelsea.
Negotiations between Chelsea, Rosenior and Strasbourg — represented by Keller and Weir — are expected to continue over the next 24 hours.
However, sources at Strasbourg insist Rosenior will not agree to a move until the club has identified a suitable successor to fill their own head coach vacancy.
